Glad to be a member of this community. My name is Mike and I reside in the twin cities area of Minnesota and have been an avid woodworker for many years. I started out as a luthier and repaired stringed instrumets for many years and begain woodturning 15 years ago. Started out turning pens and then progressed to bowls. Looking forward to learning new techniques and sharing a few tips I have learned along the way. When wood talks, I listen. Each piece will tell you what it wants to be. The trick is to see if you are both speaking the same language.

Are you looking for a coupon code to buy my software? You can get one from lots of 3rd party sites but they won't work. My software never goes on sale and has never been discounted. The only coupon codes that are given is when I give a club presentation and I offer a discount to the attendees. Other than that, everyone pays the same price.

Lloyd has a great collection of software for planning segmented vessels. For me it really simplified the planning and design process. If you have not tried the software, it is available for free for 30 days. Watch the videos to see what the software can do.
WTP gives full control over each ring.
SP is rules based and currently limits what you can do with some of the rings outside the featured rings.

I purchased Segment Pro and Lamination Pro after watching many videos and test driving the software. For me, the limitations of Segment Pro are outweighed by the by its ease of use and integration with Lamination Pro. I am in the process of building a wedgie sled and am looking forward to starting a segmented bowl soon. I have an idea of using the adjustable bed on my drill press as part of a clamping solution. Has anyone tried that?
SP is a great software. Love the paint feature. Lloyd is working on an update to SP which will allow for more adjustments to rings.
WTP also integrates with LP. It does take a bit more work to use it.
