• Having problems with video with Segment PRO on a new PC? You could be experiencing one (or both) of two problems. First, if you have an ultra high-resolution screen, the recommended settings might be higher than 1920 x 1080 with a scale factor of more than 100% and the user interfaces for all software written in c# will NOT be correct. Simply change the resolution and scaling to 1920 x 1080 and scale to 100%. Second, if you have a wonky Bowl View, you have an Intel Iris graphics solution and there are serious problems with it. Solution - go to the Drivers page at Intel's website and install their latest driver for your computer. This will fix it. Link: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download-center/home.html

Hello all,

I have always enjoyed woodturning when I have the opportunity. Recently, my wife's cousin fro Maine mentioned that he was into segmented turning and I got curious. Found this group and purchased the software and look forward to seeing what I can do. Fortunately I am freeing up some hours and hope to get my workshop back into better order over the next few month and back into the woodturning. Looking forward to exploring this forum to see what folks are doing.

I live in Calgary, Alberta.

Cheers,
Rick

Welcome to WTP Forums Rick:

I have been using the Lloyd's software for many years. I found it easy to learn.
Take the time to review the training vids. (one note is some of the vids for WTP may not match exactly to the controls with the current version)

WTP gives you full control of each ring. SP is rules based and limits what you can do to modify an individual ring. Does have a great paint section.
I still use WTP as my go to design software. At times I may build a vessel in SP and then recreate it in WTP. (due to database differences, you cannot import/export between the two programs.

Ask question you might have and share your experiences. We all continue to learn.
