• Are you looking for a coupon code to buy my software? You can get one from lots of 3rd party sites but they won't work. My software never goes on sale and has never been discounted. The only coupon codes that are given is when I give a club presentation and I offer a discount to the attendees. Other than that, everyone pays the same price.

Hello to all! I am a budding fan of Woodturning! I look forward to sharing the few turnings I've made so far and absorbing the advice, ideas and examples I may find here!

I'm new here as well! I would like to see some of your work, I'm always looking for examples to learn from. As Sam Maloof always said "One idea begets another"!

Welcome to both of you! Please don't be shy about asking questions and posting pictures. This is a great group of users and they are all willing to share advice and ideas. Please post your pictures as well. There is an understanding that comments are to be positive - even if that comment is pointing out how to make an improvement in your design and frankly, that's why we're here in the first place.

B.D., I was fortunate enough to take a two-day workshop with Sam Maloof where he cut and assembled all the components of his rocking chair. I still remember how he cut the arms on a bandsaw with the blade fully exposed. He had one end of the arm on the table as a pivot point and then free-hand cut the profile by raising the other end as he made the cut. Before he did this, he said that he was going to show us how he did this because it was the only way he knew how to do it and didn't realize that it was extremely dangerous. He further said that if any of us tried this in our shops, we would regret it from our hospital bed.

He was an amazing craftsman and I have one of his iconic rocking chairs on my bucket list.

Thanks again for becoming part of the community.
Lloyd
