Reusing discarded segments

I have been saving my segments that I have screwed up and now I have a 5 gallon bucket full. My question is has anyone done this and if so did you build a jig to recut individual segments.

I save all my screwed up segments. I've used many of them on other projects. If you want something real unique take them and put in to a plastic container and fill it with liquid resin. Let it dry cut of the plastic container and turn it into anything from a bowl to a vase and any thing you can imagine.
 
I use to keep extra or rejected segments. Using a jig for a disk sander I would sand segments to the same edge length.

I have seen members in the club do what Richard stated and imbed the segments in resin and then cut out rings on a ringmaster machine.
