• Are you looking for a coupon code to buy my software? You can get one from lots of 3rd party sites but they won't work. My software never goes on sale and has never been discounted. The only coupon codes that are given is when I give a club presentation and I offer a discount to the attendees. Other than that, everyone pays the same price.

Open Segmenting in Arizona

Being a snowbird, ordered Tom Lohmans 14" glue up fixture and 60 segment open and closed wedgies from Jerry Bennett and away we go.
Sending a couple of months in Mesa Arizona at Val Vista Villages, and they have a very nice woodshop.

Did you upgrade your jig? Pretty nice being metal.

You are an hour away from me in Sun City West. If you want to see a real wood shop come over the Sun City West and I will give you a tour. :)
I answered your question regarding wood purchases in your profile post. Hope we can get together sometime while you are in Mesa.

I didn't plan on doing any segmenting while down here, but they have such a nice shop and quite a few segmenters here. So I ordered Tom Lohman's jig and had it shipped down here. Mine at home would be way to heavy to travel with. I'm here until the end of March and yes we need to get together.

Sounds good. I will send you a private conversation with my email. We can work from there.
Looking forward to it. Guess I got to go on Tom's site and check out the prices. My wife and I are now full time in SCW. Gave up our home in Payson.

Wish I had seen this earlier. We have a place in Fountain Hills, no wood shop (). I work on carving projects when we are down. Take some classes at Rockler or Southwest school to scratch the itch.

I have looked around to see if there is a place in the city where shop space can be rented and come up empty every time.

Everything sort of went pear shaped this year with the rush home - hopefully I may get a chance to meet some of you folks down there next winter.

I live in Glendale, and just retired from Sun City Fire and Medical after 25 years. I am a long time turner and past President of the AZ Woodturners, but new to segmenting. I have jumped in with both feet and am attempting a feature ring that looks like a Chevy emblem. The software won't do it so it is trial and error. Nothing like jumping in with both feet.

Hi dalegillaspy,

We arrived down here in Mesa last Friday night and cleaning and setting up the place. Any questions along the way feel free to ask. I'm up in Mesa at Val Vista Villages on Val Vistra Drive and Mike is down here also.

I will, thanks. I get out that way quite a bit because I'm . a realtor in my retirement and really want to explore tome of the ideas I have bouncing around in my head.

Sadly, we will not be in Arizona this year. I will miss my garden there, and my carving projects but in the current COVID world - it just isn’t going to happen.

I hope you all enjoy your winters, maybe I will get to meet some of you next winter.
