New to open segment turning...how do you know which plate to order
It is up to you. You need to decide how many segments per ring.
As a beginner, the fewer number of segments, the easier it is to glue up and work with. My first bowl was 12 segments. The more intricate the design, the greater number of segments per ring and the greater the difficulty.
But most important is to have fun.
Can anyone tell me where I can download Mr. Johnson's plan (in .pdf format) for the table saw stop. Saw the link
on a You Tube video-when trying download it does not work even if I am signed into the forum.
The plan for the table saw jig is an attached pdf at the bottom of Lloyds post. Worked for me. The following is to the thread.
