I am really new to this software, but I am trying to learn all of the ins and outs. I am trying to add a species in segment pro, but I am having trouble. I copy an image from my web browser. Then I go into species and click add species. When I am in the image editor, I click on paste from clipboard but nothing comes in. I can go to a word document and paste the image in, so I know it's on the clipboard. What am I doing wrong to get the image?

If you have the image file you need to copy it to your species directory not past it. do that outside of Segment PRO.

On your pc there should be a file folder in Documents/My Segment Pro / Species.
Place your new wood species image in that folder. This is done outside of SP,

In SP you should see the new image in the species folder. You just need to add it to the palate. Select the palate when setting up your featured ring.

Thanks guys, there was a tutorial that showed doing it inside of segment pro, but this was 2016 tutorial. I then saw another one doing it outside of segment pro. I was able to make it work going this route. I will get it figured out slowly, but surely. Anyway I hope I will.

    Kenny.
You will get it figured out. If you have questions , please ask. That is what the forum is for.

Probably asked before, but I can't find it. I was following lamentation pro tutorial and created a chevron. As the tutorial showed, I exported it to the species folder and named it chevron3 because 2 was already there. Then in segment pro I double clicked the species 10 in my pallet to add it. Chevron3 was not there, however when I look in the species folder, it is there. How am I confusing myself?

Bruce, Was SP open and running when you copied the chevron3 to the species folder? If so, close SP and restarting the program. Then go into the pallet and see if cheveron3 is now there.

Your welcome. SP regenerates a bunch of stuff each time it starts.
