The simple answer is no. You cannot take a SP file and transfer it to Lamination Pro.
You can take a creation made in LP and bring it into SP as a custom wood species.

You also cannot take a SP file and transfer it to WTP , nor can you take a WTP and transfer it to SP

Brian, You cannot transfer files from SP to LP. You can use LP to create a design and bring in that pattern into SP as a custom wood species.

Just purchased some of Tom Lohmans plans to use with SP. How do I import those into my copy of SP? or is there even a way to import? Seems that the download from Tom is actually complete with everything I need - would be nice to be able to use his designs however on other profiles. Any help?

From the menu in Segment Pro, Share > Import

Easier said then done. Doesn't seem to work. So once I get it to import into SP, it states - Zip file imported successfully. But I don't see the files in Plans. Where do I open the plans or unzip the files??? is there a tutorial somewhere on this?

Did you find your zip file you got from Tom?

Yes got it in my explorer and uploaded into SP - said it was imported correctly but I still don't see the files in SP does it make a difference that I'm using Microsoft 7 and not 10? Now I wonder if it makes a difference that I ordered the program directly from Tom and got the "complete version with excel worksheet". Perhaps that version will not upload into SP? Do I need to get the other version which is not "complete"?

Windows 7, 8 or 10 does not make a difference.
When you did the import did yo just pick the zip file or did you unzip the file first?

Bob, I tried it both ways. First I saved the zip file to my hard drive, then I imported the zip file into SP. Got nothing. It did say the zip file was imported successfully. I then opened the zip file on my hard drive - and tried importing just one of the files into SP but got nothing again. I'm really confused here and I'm wondering if it's the type of file Tom sent me - ie the one with the excel sheet vrs. the file which you can buy through Woodworker PRO.

Bob I just got through talking with Tom and he confirmed that the version I purchased does not work with SP - because of the Excell worksheets imbedded within the files - so I've reordered the correct programs.

OK, The files get copied to a user directory.

Now this is a hidden directory, so you need to open Windows Explorer first and go to the very top menu and go to View, then on the Ribbon go over to Options, a box will open, go to view, go down and pick Show hidden files, or drives and pick the button. They pick apply.

Your plan file should be in this directory:

    C:\Users\"Your User Name"\AppData\Roaming\Woodturner PRO\Segment PRO\Images\JsonPlan

You can check your zip file for the names of the file and make sure they are there.

Worked perfectly this time - for anyone else having this problem - just remember to not purchase the version with the excel files - if you want it to work within SP.
