• Are you looking for a coupon code to buy my software? You can get one from lots of 3rd party sites but they won't work. My software never goes on sale and has never been discounted. The only coupon codes that are given is when I give a club presentation and I offer a discount to the attendees. Other than that, everyone pays the same price.

Unable to export images in Segment Pro

Hi,
Whenever I try to export an image from the Export Image button in the bowl settings pane, I get the message "You don't have permission to save in this location. Contact the administrator to obtain permission." I tried running the Segpro as an administrator, but that didn't work.

I have no problem saving plans and I was able to grab the image I needed from the AppData/Roaming folder, so it's not a big deal but I thought I'd report it.

Thanks,
Mike

When you export an image, after you crop it a dialog box should come up with a destination which you can change to any location you want to. Do you get that dialog box up or do you get the error message first.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I do get the file select dialog box. But I get the permissions error when trying to save in My Documents, My Pictures folder, c:\ or Desktop. I can save it in AppData\roaming\...images and, for some reason, in my One Drive folders.

Mike,

I just use a standard Visual Studio control for saving files and there isn't any ability for me to restrict the process due to permissions so it either works or it doesn't and if it doesn't, it means that the permissions will not allow us to save the file to that location. Is it possible that the file already exists at the target location?

Also, is there anything special about the name you are giving the file?

Can you save it to the Segment PRO folder? Can you save other files from Segment PRO such as the Ring View or Summary Export?

I'll be glad to look at it through file sharing, but I don't believe this is a Segment PRO issue since it has never been reported as an issue before.

If you'd like to do that, email me your phone number and where you live and I'll call and setup a time.

I found the issue and I'm posting it here in case others encounter the problem: I use Bitfender anti-virus and it was blocking Segpro from writing to those directories. (It's a feature intended to foil ransomeware attacks). I added segpro.exe to the whitelist and everything was fine.

Thank you for your help with this.

Mike
