Q about SP's base ring.....

In SP, using the Feature Ring mode I can change the base ring to a segmented ring, but cannot when in painted segment mode. It defaults to a disk and I cannot change it. Being a newbie, I'm concerned with tearout using a solid base ring. Am I missing something? Or, am I overthinking this?

Well look at that I learned something new about Segment PRO. Did not know you could make the bottom row segmented with the feature ring. Thanks for pointing that out cnsranch

Real question is if we can change the base in painted...sure hope so.

If you want a segmented base in a Painted Segment bowl, just set the height of the Base Thickness on the front page to 0. It will be gone and the new bottom row (still row #2) will be segmented.
