• Are you looking for a coupon code to buy my software? You can get one from lots of 3rd party sites but they won't work. My software never goes on sale and has never been discounted. The only coupon codes that are given is when I give a club presentation and I offer a discount to the attendees. Other than that, everyone pays the same price.

There is no way that I am aware of to seperate out the top in Segment Pro. I also don't believe you can do it in WTP.

Here is a vid from Tom Lohman on planning a bowl from a board. He cut the rings out on a scroll saw. 45degrees should work, imo. Title: Videos - Segmented Woodturning

WTP Cutting Summary not showing species

Hi Dave. It would be helpful if you would attach your wtp file for us to look at. The default species column is what you have chosen as default. It can be changed by selecting the disk or ring and changing the species in the row detail window. In WTP when you paint a segment it will be...

    Paint screen

Not that I am aware of. Current version of SP does not allow one to change individual ring heights like you can in WTP. Example in WTP you can insert a zero height ring to eliminate the brick stagger pattern. base disk ring 1 height 0.25 ring 2 height 0.0 ring 3 height 0.25 ring 4 height...

    Gaps between rings

To avoid gaps between rings in the future you should glue a ring, let the glue set/dry, mount the vessel on the lathe and sand the top of the mounted ring flat with a sanding disk. Make sure the bottom of the next ring to be mounted is flat before mounting. rinse and repeat.

    Flip a segment

    Gaps between rings

I like Ken's idea of the small groove. Besides burning you could do an do an inlay of some accept material. I have even inlayed copper wire, crushed stone, brass metal shavings, etc.

    Flip a segment

or in your example you have 4 segment to make the pattern. Why not bring in each separately as a species and keep the 12 segments per ring. Species left, Species middle left, Species middle right, Species right. (based on your greekkey jpg.

    Losing design

me too. After many years I am still learning things about the software. Especially SP When I imported your SP file I noticed it was set on featured ring. To see what design you painted you need to make sure Painted Segment in the bowl setting is selected. What you paint in SP will not show...

    Losing design

Thanks Alan: The WTP file is a big help. Nice bowl design. When I first opened it, I noticed the spacers species is set as walnut and the spacer size was 0. As an example I saved your file as Walnut Ash modify - I changed the species for the spacers to maple and set a size of 0.125 for you...
