    If the ring is drum sanded on both sides why is it necessary to sand again with a board?? I have made a lot of vases and never done that. The rings are always parallel to each face and true to glue on. Works perfectly, What am I missing here?

    Thanks Mark, I am familiar with that post. I followed it years ago too. The laser dot is not the same as a line laser that actually shows where the blade will cut in a straight line. All my glue up stuff is patterned after Lloyds ideas. The dot, although good, leaves a little to be desired.

    Thanks for the reply. Do you just use tape to hold the half rings until dry or just press the segments together and flatten them with weight. I am going to give this a try.
