First segmented vessel

Very nice for your first. Like the color combination.
Noticed a few glue joint lines. I have seen much worse on first segment vessels. Yours is much nicer than my first attempt. I learned to take my time and sand a bit more to ensure rings are flat. My problem was I wanted to get on the lathe to learn the tools and my build suffered for it.

Again, you should be proud. Very good first vessel.
How did the planning process go for you in WTP?

Thank you for your kind words. You pegged it, I was in a rush to see what I could do with this type of turning. I've been spinning wood, off and on, for about 20 yrs. and decided to give segmenting a try. So far I like it. And I plan to continue practicing the style.

Yep. WTP suite is very good for developing plans.

Glad you found segment work enjoyable. I have found it to be very addictive. The forum here at WTP has helped in my knowledge. There a some great artist here. Someday I hope to achieve half of what some are doing.

I like the complexity of your first attempt; this shows me that you are a true segmenter at heart! Every piece is a learning experience; not only for you but the rest of us as we remember the similar challenges we all encountered. The hardest lesson for me to learn is when you notice something that does not exactly align, it will never get any better. You should fix things as you see them happening otherwise you will burn the hours up completing some piece and noticeable flaws will remain. I like your piece, wild and crazy live at my house too!
