      Nice bowl. Not bad for a first attempt at a SW bowl.

      I am impressed. You are further along than I am so far. I am curious how you handled the vertical (purpleheart?) strips since the width of those are less than the width of the main (walnut?) segment widths.

      Nice job on the first attempt. A little more contrast in wood selection might have given it a little more pop.

      @Ed Korsberg Ed, after cutting angles on the sides of the decorative pieces I just placed a piece of purple heart between each section when gluing up the ring. The purple heart above and below the ring was a half inch thick purple heart I glued to the walnut and split with a parting tool. The part I cut off got glued to the top of the decorative ring.

      What I love the most is how you did the Purpleheart and maple as contrast. It makes it look O so Well.
