• Are you looking for a coupon code to buy my software? You can get one from lots of 3rd party sites but they won't work. My software never goes on sale and has never been discounted. The only coupon codes that are given is when I give a club presentation and I offer a discount to the attendees. Other than that, everyone pays the same price.

I am in the process of making my first piece with a pattern I glued up all the rings according to the ring summary but am having a serious lapse as how to align the rings when gluing them together to achieve the pattern I created in segment pro if anyone can help me I'm sure it's really easy but I just can't seem to get it thanks

- If you painted a pattern in SP use the paint view as a guide. You can do a screen capture and print out the pattern.
- When gluing rings together there are two things to check one is to make sure the ring is centered to the turning axis. Using the stomper or taking measurements at 0,90,180, 270, of the added ring to the ring it is being glued to. If the distance is the same the ring is centered.

- as far as the pattern. The ring being added is generally glued so the edge of the segment aligns to the middle of the lower ring segment (making a brick layering pattern for joints.)
- Use the paint view as a guide to stack the rings. Make a pencil mark if needed to keep track of segment as you are aligning the rings.
- I will then check the pattern at 0,90,180,270 to make sure the design is correct.
I just saw a post where it seems you asked me for a pic of the DRO on my saw. I answered it but suspect I'm way too late to help you. If you'd like to talk about my DRO or anything else in my process, my phone is (765) 427-0466.
Having an issue as i messed up the profile view in seg pro ???

Hi Martin.
Not sure what you mean you "messed up the profile view in SP"
What specifically is the issue?
Is it still a problem if you close the program and reopen SP?

It would be better to post your question in the Software Support / Segment Pro Forum. Not everyone looks at profile posts.
I bet the fishing is good where you live. I met a guy from Red Deer on a Cunard cruise to Hawaii in 2012 the year I retired. He worked for CAT I think. He had that Canadian accent.
Making a new sled for cutting segments. Could you send a photo of your DRO setup so i can include it with my new sled?

I just now saw this. My DRO is just the standard Wixey DRO for table saws. It reads the distance from the blade to the stop mounted on my fence. Therefore, it reads 3.6%long sor degment edge length for 12-segment rings because COS(15 deg) = .966.

My stop is just a block of wood bolted to the fence.

What would you like a pic of?

My old sled is the straight out of Jerry Bennett's videos and my new sled replaced the arced slots with a piece of t-track. Nothing special about them at all.
Dear Lloyd, Thanks for sending me authorization to use your software again. I loaded it on my desktop here at the house, and all 3 work fine. I forgot and didn't keep the e-mail you sent me, and I don't know how to install it on my laptop down at my shop. Could you please help me set up my other computers.
Thanks again for all your help and I hope to see you in Chicago this fall. Roy Essinger

Roy,

Login to the Forum and click on your name. Click ‘Preferences’ and scroll down to see the two authorization codes you purchased at different times. Make a print screen of that page and keep it in hard copy. I’m the only employee of the company and if something happens to me, there won’t be anyone to lookup your code.

Call me with questions. It is best to do this with a phone call.

Lloyd,

Should something happen to you, god forbid, is that the end of the software? Do you have a plan to pass the app on to a trusted agent of sorts if you cannot carry on? Sorry for the gloom and doom question.

I'll send you an email as ther is a 420 character limit here.
G'Day I am a new member. I did have the old version of the Woodturner Pro software and could not update it.
Hope to make much better use of the software now. I am from Australia and retired and enjoy woodworking whether it be furniture making to making
Guitars and Violins.

Hello from Sunny Scottsdale AZ. Just joined and looking forward to segmenting. Been turning for many years but never segmented projects. Instagram is @wheelchairartisan. And yes I turn and build all from a wheelchair.

Which lathe do you use?
There is no sound on the video addressing the differences between Segment Pro and Woodturner Pro. My Headphones are working correctly as I have audio for YouTube. Anyone else having this issue?
Just bought the software bundle. Have been turning for about 5 years doing mostly segmented and open segmented turning. just got a new lathe last week, Rikon 70-3040. Waited 8.5 months for delivery.
Microsoft doesn't support paint anymore, i'm wondering if the paintview can be printed without having MSpaint installed.
I guess my memory lets me down on how to print the coloured paint, any help would be nice

Hi

I was wondering if you every upgraded segmented pro to change properties of individual rows
mfisher
mfisher
No. SP has not been upgraded to change properties of individual rows. SP is rules based design tool. If you want full property control of individual rings then Wood Turner Pro would be the design tool to use.
Are you still online? I can't open the tutorial for segmented pro. It brings me to woodturner pro forums but there are no forums.
where are all of the video tutorials?

Look under video tutorials / software.
If you have questions regarding the software, please ask questions in the other forums.

Hi Bob.
We will have to keep in touch. Right now the shop is open but no guests. Covid protocols are still in place. I have not been in the shop since the shop closed. Still keeping isolated.
